LONDON CRAFT WEEK

Holland & Holland together with QEST

A chance to see how my work is made this Wednesday 4th May.  As a scholar of The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST)  I have been asked by Holland & Holland to demonstrate some silversmithing techniques, such as chasing as part of London Craft Week.

QEST and Holland & Holland believe it is important to sustain traditional British craftsmanship; without the dedication and enthusiasm of future craftsmen, many of our honoured and traditional skills would wither and die.

I will be in the window of Holland & Holland
33 Bruton Street, London, W1J 6HH

11am - 5pm Wednesday 4th May

Christmas in Belgravia - De Vroomen

This exhibition will run from Friday 4th to Saturday 12th December at my gallery in Belgravia - De Vroomen.

The Sunday the 6th is a special date - it is Belgravia Christmas Sunday, when Elizabeth Street is closed to all traffic and turned into a Christmas market with handmade craft stalls and boutique market sellers, choirs, brass bands and festive food and drinks. There is a great atmosphere and it has the reputation of a wonderful family day in this beautiful part of London.

Just 10 minutes' walk from Victoria, Knightsbridge and Sloane Square, Belgravia Christmas Sunday is a family day out not to be missed.

Celebrating Silver, Mappin & Webb

Maria Doulton talks to me about my enamelled bowls at Celebrating Silver, Mappin & Webb
"A revival of contemporary silver"

Celebrating Silver

Mappin and Webb are celebrating its 240th Anniversary. To mark this milestone they are hosting an exclusive preview of contemporary silver from the prestigious Goldsmiths' Fair. I have been selected as one of just 13 Contemporary British Silversmith's to take part.

On the opening night I spoke to Maria Doulton who had selected my enamelled bowls from my 'Over the Ocean' series. ''Their colour and their flowing organic shape" had caught her attention and she wanted to know more. The video above shares her views and more about the show.

The work is on sale now in the showroom at Mappin & Webb, Regents Street, London, as well as online.

Due to popular demand the show has now been extended until Sunday 30th August 2015.

Photography in the studio

Ansell Cizic has been visiting and photographing artists in their studio's in the East End ; Hackney Wick and beyond.  Working on his new project he seems inspired by a particular moment, a feeling or an object within each space and uses that to capture the artist within their own environment.
We welcomed him to your studio just before Christmas. He was very taken by the light and the vintage workbench that we were given by the Museum of London.  Pictured as well are some of the hammers, that are significant to my work.
